MATTHEW WILLIAM BYRD
1988-2008

Matthew William Byrd, age 19, went home to be with his heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 26, 2008. He joins his loving Grandpapa and Grandpa Byrd. Matthew graduated from Tate High School in 2006 and was a talented trombonist with the Show Band of the South all four years. He was currently attending Pensacola Junior College pursuing a degree in business.

Matthew is survived by his parents Mary Jane Murphy and Jeffery Byrd; his two brothers Joshua and Benjamin, and his sister Danielle. Matthew is loved and will be missed by his Memaw and Papa Byrd, and Grandmama Murphy, and also by many aunts, uncles and numerous cousins and friends.

A mass of celebration will be held 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Dominic Phan Sa celebrate and Brother Mike Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Gonzalez Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Byrd, Ryan McGrath, David Murphy, Robert Collins, Morgan Hamilton and Jason Pryer.
The family will receive friends at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North-Cantonment on Monday, March 31, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Tate High School Band in memory of Matt Byrd.

FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME North 1000 Highway 29 South Cantonment is in charge of arrangements.
